Responsibilities
Responsible for performing all the duties required of an optician, in addition to managerial duties
Manage, teach, and coach the optical team members
Interact with Members, confirm appointments, and maintain department upkeep
Serve as the liaison between members and the lab to ensure timely order processing
Exhibit strategic thinking and sound decision-making through knowledge and utilization of business data
Lead through change and model leadership competencies
Communicate effectively and provide the information teams require to be successful
Build high performing teams by creating a culture of collaboration
Deliver results by executing business expectations within expected timeframes
Teach, coach, and lead through the club level training process
Drive a culture of development, strategic thinking, ethical decision making, and engagement
Ensure a safe and positive environment for team members and members
Guarantee service excellence through all points of contact
Set service standard expectations for all team members
Ensure a safe and positive environment for the members
Lead teams to deliver GOLD club standards daily
Acquire a deep knowledge of key metrics and reporting for total club and department performance
Drive performance and profitability by using reporting to identify trends and areas of opportunity
Communicate a simple message to your team on the connection between operational performance and achieving club financial targets
Provide a high level of Member service, including answering all incoming calls and scheduling patients for eye exams
Provide support to Members in making eyeglass adjustments and processing orders
Manage Optical department team members and ensure engagement with Members
Manage all sales opening and closing procedures at the end of the shift
Strive to deliver sales and metric goals by educating patients on available products
Engage with members in front of Optical during downtime
Communicate and follow up with Club Manager and Regional Optical Manager regarding department performance
Ensure workstation/Optical department is always maintained and clean
Supervise all team members in the Optical department and manage training and promotions
Maintain all club policies and procedures
Perform other duties as assigned
Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of this job
Qualification
Required
Must be licensed to work as an optician within the State and keep license up to date and active
Demonstrated leadership capabilities, including managing/supervising cross-functional teams, training team members, and driving and communicating results
Strong interpersonal skills, customer service skills, organizational skills and an attention to detail
Open shift availability
At least 18 years of age
Preferred
Knowledge of optical products and business practices
High school diploma, college degree, and/or big box wholesale, retail, optical, and/or management experience
