Responsibilities
Perform relationally linked modeling, Load and Stress analysis, Safety Margin assessments, datum scheme establishment and tolerance stack-up analysis
Develop free-body diagrams for internal and reaction load derivation; to perform stress analysis of internal loads and/or damage tolerance to support program design, fabrication, testing, and/or structural integrity activities
Component and assembly-level design including establishment of datum schemes, safety margin and tolerance analysis
Design and analysis of composite and metal structures, including bonded and bolted assemblies under static and dynamic load conditions
Create, interpret and maintain detailed engineering drawings, BOM management skills and Interface Control Documents (ICD)
Perform trade studies and establish the overall missile configuration based on requirements
Qualification
Required
10+ Years of Structural Analysis experience with Bachelor's degree or 8+ Years with Master's degree (missile system airframe preferred)
5+ Years of classical hand calculation, FEM & FEA experience including boundary conditions, 2-D/3-D connections, contact and verification methods (Siemens Simcenter Structures and FEMAP preferred)
2+ Years of experience with CAD (Siemens NX preferred)
Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year College or University in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering
Must be US Citizen and eligible to obtain US DoD Secret Clearance (active clearance a plus)
Preferred
Airframe stress analysis experience in the Aerospace & Defense industry (ideally military, missile defense or space)
Knowledgeable in metallic and composite materials, including manufacturing methods and structural applications
Familiar with Design-to-Cost principles
Exposure to classical aerospace sizing methods (ex: Bruhn, Niu, Roark)
CAD Automation, programming, structural modeling and script development a plus
FEA experience for high -g environments such as missiles, flight vehicles, munitions, cannon fired or projectile based systems a plus
Master's degree or Doctor of Philosophy degree from an accredited College or University a plus
