Aeromechanical Engineer 2

Responsibilities
Use Solidworks to design and modify parts and assemblies
Create 2D drawings of parts and assemblies complete with bill of material (BOM) for internal or external fabrication and assembly
Perform aerodynamic analysis and calculations to inform the design and predict the behavior of aircraft
Conduct simulations, testing, and prototyping to validate designs and ensure they meet performance and safety requirements
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing, electrical, software, and systems engineers, to integrate mechanical systems into larger aerospace systems
Perform risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies for potential mechanical failures
Maintain accurate documentation of designs, processes, and test results
Design and oversee the manufacturing and assembly processes of mechanical components, ensuring they meet quality and performance standards
Perform other duties as assigned
Regular and reliable attendance on a full-time basis [or in accordance with posted schedule]
Responsible for exhibiting professional behavior with both internal and external business associates that reflects positively on the company and is consistent with the company's policies and practices

Qualification
Required
Proficiency in CAD software, such as SolidWorks or CATIA
Experience with Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD)
Strong knowledge of materials, manufacturing processes, and quality control procedures
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment
Understanding of regulatory and industry standards, such as FAA regulations, AS9100, and ISO 9001
Bachelor's degree in Aerospace, Aeronautical, Mechanical Engineering or a related field
3-6 years of experience in aerospace or a related industry
U.S. Citizenship required
Preferred
Master's degree in Aerospace, Aeronautical, Mechanical Engineering, Engineering or a related field
Familiarity with 3D printing technologies
Solidworks Certified Professional in Mechanical Design (CSWP) is a plus
Experience with UAVs or RC aircraft
Experience in a rapid prototype environment
Experience with Star-CCM+ and XFLR a plus
Current Secret or Top-Secret DoD clearance preferred
