Community Events Leader

NEOGOV is seeking a Community Events Leader to oversee and perform duties associated with city-related events. The role involves managing event setup, maintenance of equipment, and coordinating volunteers, ensuring a positive customer service environment.

Responsibilities

Assists in developing, implementing, and overseeing activities for special events
Sets up and strikes indoor and outdoor event areas and equipment
Serves as hospitality host for various events and programs
Provides standard maintenance for all staging/audio/visual equipment
Performs light carpentry related to event operations
Maintains all instruments and related inventory to ensure they are in good, safe working condition
Maintains updated equipment inventory
Assists in coordinating volunteers and contracted laborers
Maintains and prepares records and reports
Assists Coordinator with daily operations
Performs general office duties
Designs brochures and promotional materials for program marketing of facility and programing
Must be available for overtime and emergency call-outs when necessary
Assists in preparation for, response to, and recovery from, the impacts of a wide variety of disasters or emergency situations and may be temporarily assigned to other duties, locations, and shifts
Meets attendance requirements
Promotes positive customer service environment internally and externally
Performs other job-related functions as assigned

Event programming knowledgeAudio/visual equipment maintenanceCPR training with AED certificationMicrosoft Office proficiencyPositive interaction abilityOffice equipment operationElectronicsVerbal communication skillsWritten communication skills

Required

High school diploma, GED, or equivalent recognized certificate
Possession of a valid Florida driver's license
CPR training with AED certification required within three (3) months of employment
General knowledge of special event programming including but not limited to sound, stage, lighting and ticket handling, props, general set up and tear down operations
Competent verbal and written communication skills
Knowledge of computers and Microsoft Office programs
Ability to operate office equipment and software necessary for job function
Knowledge of electronics, public address system, and other related equipment
Ability to interact in a positive manner
Sufficient physical ability to walk, bend, stoop, reach and climb ladders for extended periods under all weather conditions
Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to seventy-five pounds

Preferred

Vocational Technical degree, specialized training, or previous similar experience preferred
