This role requires strong litigation support experience, including calendaring, document preparation, and trial support tasks.

Responsibilities

Calendaring & Case Management Maintain attorney calendars and tickler systems Schedule meetings with clients, experts, attorneys, and co-counsel Calendar court appearances, deadlines, and discovery dates Review and re-index mail in OnBase and calendar follow-up actions

Legal Document Preparation Prepare discovery, pre-trial, and trial documents for court filing Transcribe dictation and type from handwritten or draft materials Draft correspondence, memos, pleadings, court forms, and reports Ensure filings comply with court rules and procedures

Administrative & Litigation Support Maintain confidential electronic legal files with accurate documentation Coordinate all aspects of discovery for plaintiffs and defendants Answer and screen telephone calls Contact clients to obtain requested information Provide short- and long-term legal secretarial support as needed Assist and back up other legal secretaries

Additional Support Maintain current knowledge of court rules and procedures Participate in department and company projects Perform additional administrative and legal support tasks as assigned

Qualification

Litigation support experienceTrial preparationMicrosoft WordCalifornia civil litigationTyping speed 70+ WPMOrganizational skillsCommunication skills

Required

High school diploma or GED

7+ years of defense trial and litigation secretarial experience

3+ years of recent California civil litigation experience

Strong trial preparation background

Proficiency in Microsoft Word and legal software

Typing speed of 70+ WPM

Strong organizational and communication skills
