Clinic Support Supervisor- Dental (Onsite at Cohasset)

Northern Valley Indian Health is seeking a Clinic Support Supervisor to assist the Clinic Site Manager or Dental Practice Manager in managing day-to-day activities at the assigned site. This role involves staffing assignments, handling patient complaints, and ensuring quality patient care while exemplifying the organization's core values.

Responsibilities

Consults with the Clinic Site Manager / Dental Practice Manager to develop staffing plans; coordinates, directs, and provides patient care and safety orientation for new employees and ongoing training and/or education of downline staff
Maintains staffing schedules in staff scheduling system, ensuring effective staff utilization to meet staffing and workload requirements
Assist Clinic Site Manager / Dental Practice Manager in new subordinate staff interview and candidate selection
Monitors and approves subordinate staff planned time off requests and time card processing
Addresses subordinate staff conflicts and performance concerns in collaboration with the Clinic Site Manager / Dental Practice Manager
Assist Clinic Site Manager / Dental Practice Manager in maintenance of provider schedules in the Electronic Health Record (EHR)
Assist Clinic Site Manager / Dental Practice Manager with quarterly chart audits and implementation and oversight of process improvement initiatives for area of responsibility
Assist Clinic Site Manager / Dental Practice Manager with meetings, planning and execution
Participates in continuing education to improve skills and abilities and stay abreast of current technologies/practices
Performs duties related to the Receptionist, Records and Referral Coordinator and other downline functions as part of the daily responsibilities to ensure proper coverage of duty assignment
Performs other duties as assigned

Required

High School Diploma or equivalent, General Education Diploma (GED) required
A minimum of three (3) years of related health care clinic experience required
Demonstrates a high level of interpersonal skills, time management skills, and an ability to meet established productivity standards both independently and in motivating subordinates
Exhibits a high degree of courtesy, tact, and poise when interacting with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals
Excellent written and oral communication skills, strong organizational problem-solving and analytical skills
Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm as an innovative team player
Detailed oriented and works with a high level of accuracy in every aspect of the job
Ability to ensure compliance with HIPAA, federal, state, and local laws and regulations supporting patient confidentiality and risk management processes
Working knowledge of medical terminology sufficient to communicate appropriately with patients, healthcare providers and insurance company representatives regarding appointments, services and procedures
Working knowledge of practices and protocols related to reception, medical records, and referral coordinator responsibilities
Knowledge of healthcare insurance systems including Medi-Cal, Private Insurance, and Fee-for-Service
Computer skills that provide the ability to efficiently use the computer systems, including but not limited to electronic health record systems for scheduling, updating information, and word processing documents
Reliable Transportation and ability to adhere to regular attendance

Preferred

Previous supervision and experience in health care management preferred
