Responsibilities

Candidate shall work on various aspects of civil engineering design, plan preparation, permitting and construction oversight while working in a project team environment
Candidate would contribute to projects including collecting existing utility data; performing modeling and simulation; site grading; water distribution system; sanitary sewer collection system; drainage analysis; roadway alignment; pavement marking; signage; and erosion control
Prepare project design drawings within MicroStation and/or AutoCAD
Develop project specific detail drawings
Calculate project construction quantity estimates
Assist with technical specifications, cost estimates, reports, schedules, and other related tasks
Learn and adhere to client-specific standards
Coordinate with team members and client representatives
Periodic travel to project sites for field investigation and or construction support
Project outlines, project initiation, project schedules, project executions, and project closeout
Interface with multi-disciplinary design teams

Required

Must possess a bachelor's degree in civil or environmental engineering
0 - 2 years of experience working for a firm in the A/E/C industry
Excellent technical writing skills
Outstanding organizational skills
Strong sense of urgency, project responsibility and initiative
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills
Knowledge of FDOT standards
Experience with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation
Ability to quickly learn and apply complex systems

Preferred

a master's degree is a plus
Engineer-In-Training (EI) designation is preferred. The expectation is that such candidate would be working towards becoming a Professional Engineer (P.E.)
Knowledge of Civil 3D and ArcGIS
