Intake Specialist- Oconomowoc

Responsibilities
Evaluate incoming inquiries to determine and explain the next step to accessing care at Rogers
Complete Admission assessments with potential patients and/or their representatives
Demonstrate understanding and explanation of admitting processes
Understand clinical criteria necessary for admission to Rogers’ programs
Demonstrate understanding and explanation of all required admitting forms
Demonstrate understanding and explanation of policies and procedures related to bed assignment and capacity limitations
Describe levels of care within Rogers to potential patients and/or their representatives
Gather demographic and insurance information of potential patients and/or responsible representatives
Understand how to utilize and explain Rogers’ contracted payor listing
Complete all documentation steps for each inquiry and assessment
Ensure all inquiries are entered in the designated system and all necessary information is captured
Ensure referral source information is obtained and entered for each inquiry
Ensure all clinical information is entered accurately into admission assessment tool
Adhere to department standards as it relates to performance measures
Ensure quality of call meets department standards
Ensure productivity meets department standards
Connect potential patients and/or their representative with outside resources when indicated
Collaborate with internal departments and external facilities/referents as it relates access to care
Participate in the On-Call, weekend, and holiday schedule, as assigned
Complete other duties as assigned by Admissions leadership
Understand and apply policies and procedures in accordance with external regulatory agencies:
Including, but not limited to: Joint Commission, Health Information Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), Emergency Medical Treatment & Labor Act (EMTALA), 42 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) and other regulatory agency compliance regulations
Attend and participate in development opportunities to increase involvement and awareness of regulations
Promote department goals and Mission of Rogers Behavioral Health:
Comply with Rogers culture agreements and all Hospital’s policies and procedures
Qualification
Required
High School Diploma required
Customer service experience required
Preferred
Bachelor's degree preferred (in human services related field)
Minimum of 2 years' experience in a health care setting strongly preferred
Recent college graduates who want to pursue a career in mental health are strongly encouraged to apply
