Responsibilities
Responsible for performing resolution oriented Customer Service support for the Healthcare Delivery Central Business Office
Receives and responds to inquiries from patients regarding Hospital, Physician Services, and Ambulatory Surgical Centers services
Processes correspondence and documents all work activity in electronic patient files
Responsible for customer service, patient billing problem solving, and account analysis, both on the telephone and in the event a patient should appear in-person at the CBO offices
Responsible to meet daily/weekly productivity and quality reasonable work expectations
Collaborates with Health System departments to achieve the HRHS CBO key performance metric targets established by Senior Leadership
Qualification
Required
H.S. diploma/GED
3+ years prior healthcare experience
Knowledge of government and third party payer language and reimbursement terms, billing rules and guidelines
Knowledge of medical terminology, ICD10, CPT, and HCPC coding
Familiar with multiple (widely used) healthcare patient accounting/billing systems
Proficiency with Excel, MS Office Suite, Internet Explorer, and Database Management application software
Ability to communicate in English, both written and verbal
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, employees and the public
Ability to handle multiple tasks and accurately process high volumes of work
Ability to focus on detailed information
Strong organizational and time management skills
Ability to access and navigate the internet to individual insurance program websites
Good analytical skills, assertive in resolving unpaid claims
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
