Responsibilities
Lead by example, care for the team and establish credibility with the quality of the team’s technical execution
Build the foundation that will enable Galileo’s many engineering teams to deliver better quality products faster
Nurture a culture of continuous improvement and blameless retrospectives within your team
Build and mentor a team of engineers, helping them succeed and grow their talents by exposing them to new challenges and experiences
Drive deep technical discussions within your team and with others to ensure that Galileo continues to innovate
Help the team stay on track by collaborating on benchmarks and milestones with them and your customers
Work with other engineering managers to understand their challenges to identify areas where your team can drive all of Galileo forward
Share your team’s successes with Galileo’s engineering teams and management
Receive mentorship from senior engineering leaders to accelerate your own leadership journey and management capabilities
Qualification
Required
2+ years of leadership experience mentoring and evaluating software engineers – for example, as a Tech Lead, Team Lead, or Associate Manager
5+ years of experience with enterprise software development in Python
Ability to engage in technical and business discussions from both tactical and strategic viewpoints and leverage the technical insights of your senior engineers
Experience with design and operation of cloud-based software as a service
Experience with continuous delivery principles and techniques
Ability to balance the delivery of business objectives while maintaining the technical platform's quality
Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related subject or equivalent experience
Preferred
Expertise building and deploying software in AWS including VPCs, ECS, and EKS
Experience working in highly regulated environments such as banking or finance
Significant hands-on experience with Java
Fluency in Spanish
