Responsibilities
Lead financial forecasting, budgeting, and reporting processes for Optum Corporate
Own and manage the consolidated forecast process across Optum Corporate functions
Partner with SLT & ELT leaders to shape long-term financial strategy, support business strategy, and guide investment decisions that drive sustainable growth
Develop and oversee business planning initiatives
Conduct ad-hoc financial and operational analyses to support cost optimization and strategic decision-making
Design and implement business analytics frameworks and performance metrics reporting
Translate complex data into actionable insights for senior leadership
Drive system improvement initiatives to enhance financial and operational efficiency
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement technology and process upgrades
Serve as a financial advisor to senior leadership, influencing decisions through data-driven insights
Evaluate financial plans and operational metrics to guide strategic direction
Lead and mentor a team of Finance professionals
Foster a high-performance culture focused on collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field
10+ years of progressive experience with strategic finance, internal controls, business analytics, financial analysis
5+ years professional staff management experience
Proven deep understanding of accounting principles, financial systems (e.g., PeopleSoft)
Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive enterprise-level initiatives
Proven solid analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills
Preferred
CPA or MBA
Supervisory and Leadership: Proven experience in leading and supervising a large team of various skill sets and backgrounds, ensuring effective collaboration and achieving organizational goals
Experience with Oracle EPM software: Demonstrated expertise in utilizing this software for financial management, forecasting and reporting
Automation of Processes and Procedures: Experience with automating processes and procedures to enhance efficiency, reduce errors, and improve overall productivity
