Deputy Department Director, Senior
NEOGOV is seeking a highly qualified candidate for the role of Deputy Department Director Senior within the City of Richmond's Office of the Inspector General. This executive management position involves overseeing the department's programs and operations, including audits, compliance, and ethical standards enforcement.

Responsibilities
Engaging leadership of staff, managing investigative programs, and implementing execution strategies to include providing oversight of the budgets, funding, and resources associated with these tasks
Planning, directing, prioritizing, and supervising all investigation activities related to criminal fraud, abuse of public trust, employee/ contractor turpitude, and misconduct
Performing highly sensitive investigations and/or directing staff who are assigned to sensitive investigations
Establishing, developing, and evaluating effectiveness of OIG programs and and operations
Collaborating and cooperating with prosecuting and law enforcement agencies as appropriate
Identifying, investigating, and recommending corrective actions associated with adverse findings resulting from investigations
Supervising employees and providing oversight of employee activities, performance, and development
Performing other related duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in public administration or field directly related to assignment
Eight (8) or more years of progressively responsible related experience that includes significant management and supervisory experience
The successful candidate will be required to obtain registration as a Special Conservator of the Peace to include required training and certification by the Virginia Department of Criminal Justice pursuant to the Code of Virginia, §6VAC20-230 of the Regulations Relating to Special Conservator of the Peace. This requirement must be completed within 12 months of hire
An equivalent combination of training and experience (as approved by the department) may be used to meet the minimum qualifications of the classification
Preferred
Master's degree in a field directly related to the assignment
Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), Certified Inspector General (CIG), and/or Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) designations are highly preferred
