NEOGOV is seeking an Administrative Support Services professional to join the City of Brookfield's Parks Recreation & Forestry Department. The role involves performing various office support and clerical duties, maintaining departmental records, and assisting with public relations and customer service.

Responsibilities

Assists with maintaining an efficient flow of administrative and office support processes, including word processing, data bases, spreadsheets, filing, copying, collating, and mailings
Processes departmental purchase orders, invoices, accounts payable and maintains accurate payment records
Updates and maintains application software database to include creating codes and reporting
Assists with preparation, compilation, and calculation of department payroll and maintenance of employee leave records
Develops and prepares tables, reports, and requisition forms from copy or draft
Promotes and maintains positive departmental public relations and image with other City departments, employees, officials and the public in a courteous and professional manner
Troubleshoots equipment problems, including copy machine, computers, and fax machine
Orders materials and supplies for the Department and maintains inventory
Maintains telephonic contact with internal and external customers
Responds or refers public requests to appropriate individual
Processes departmental mail

Required

High School Diploma, G.E.D., or equivalent. Associate's degree in administrative professional preferred
Three (3) years of administrative, secretarial, or office support experience, preferably in the public sector
Two (2) years of bookkeeping, accounting, and payroll experience
Three (3) years of customer service experience
Proficiency with computer software programs, including spreadsheets, word processing and data bases
Knowledge equivalent to a high school degree
Two (2) years of administrative, secretarial, and office support experience, preferably in the public sector
Two (2) years of customer service experience
One (1) year of administrative, secretarial, or office support experience, preferably in the public sector
One (1) year of customer service experience
