Senior Sales Account Manager

The Senior Sales Account Manager is responsible for managing and growing strategic customer accounts, serving as the primary interface between the customer and internal teams to ensure successful execution of sales strategies and long-term customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

Identify new business opportunities, lead the RFQ (Request for Quotation) process, supporting growth in revenue and profitability
Work with cost estimating and engineering to develop pricing, review the internally developed quotes/cost breakdowns, submit and explain them to the customer; provide the voice of the customer back to the company and lead the team in winning profitable new business
Monitor customer score cards and assist the company in maintaining excellent performance
Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with customer purchasing, engineering/program management, and supplier quality
Manage day-to-day commercial activities on pre-production, production, and post production (service) programs including: Ensuring pricing accuracy for example, with engineering changes, directed component pricing changes, and commodity/currency index program pricing Ensuring that purchase orders are in place to support timely tooling invoicing Ensuring commercial claims/cost recoveries are processed on time and in compliance with OEM terms and conditions
Negotiate pricing, commercial terms, tooling, engineering changes, and cost recoveries to achieve company targets
Collaborate with program management, engineering, and manufacturing teams to ensure successful launches and resolve customer issues
Collaborating with sales operations, ensure program extensions and volume changes are communicated through the company and incorporated into the sales forecast
Collaborating with the sales director to assist in developing revenue targets and business plans for assigned accounts
Stay informed on market trends, competitive landscape, and customer strategies to provide strategic input

Required

Bachelor's degree in business, engineering or a related field
3+ years of experience in automotive sales, account management, or commercial roles with an automotive Tier One supplier
Knowledge of OEM commercial processes and automotive lifecycles
Demonstrated negotiation and contract management skills
Ability to manage multiple programs/accounts and work cross-functionally
Excellent communication skills
Proficient in MS Office
Experience managing accounts for automotive OEMs (GM, Ford, Nissan, Stellantis)
Fluent in English
A minimum score of 50 on the Wonderlic Select Assessment (Traditional score of 26 on the cognitive portion)

Preferred

Experience with products using injection molded plastic
Understanding of automotive quality systems (IATF 16949) and APQP processes
Understanding of cost structures and margins
