Responsibilities

You will work in our Cloud Engineering area working on the global technical operations of cloud computing capabilities for Lilly
Additionally, you would be working as part of the larger cloud foundation team on strategy for cloud services that will be offered by the Cloud Engineering teams
In this role, you will work closely with various teams and customers to ensure the reliability, performance, and continuous improvement of our cloud services
This role will have the opportunity to work with the latest public cloud IaaS services
In addition, this role will have the opportunity to improve our cloud infrastructure services
Our goal is to improve all aspect of our infrastructure availability and reliability through repeatable patterns, new architectural designs, improvements in observability to prevent outages to help increase value across the organization
You will drive Infrastructure Operations to never have to fix the same problem twice through adoption of AI OPS, Event Driven Automation, and robust Observability
You will accelerate initiatives in areas such as: Infrastructure AI OPS automation, cloud IaaS management, and cloud infrastructure as code to enable critical business projects
You will have groundbreaking chances to transform our operations processes using proactive, predictive, and automated AI & Observability capabilities
You will bring a high learning agility and Infrastructure operations / engineer skills to help us enable the Lilly Technology strategy, identifying tech opportunities, and accelerate our AI OPS journey

Required

Advanced proficiency in AWS, including operations, deployment, scaling, and management of AWS Cloud native services
Experience with multi-cloud environments (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) is highly valued
Strong skills in Python, Bash, PowerShell, and infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation)
Experience with configuration management and automation tools such as Ansible
Deep understanding of cloud security principles, regulatory standards (e.g., HIPAA), and best practices for securing cloud infrastructure and data
Experience with monitoring tools such as Splunk, performance tuning, and cost optimization strategies
Solid grasp of networking concepts, virtual networks, VPNs, SDN, and NFV
Familiarity with DevOps methodologies and continuous integration/continuous deployment pipelines
Strong troubleshooting abilities, analytical thinking, and a track record of resolving complex technical issues
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with experience working across global and diverse teams and collaborating with customers to deliver tailored solutions
Experience in ITSM principles including incident, change, and service request management, after-hours support, and maintaining comprehensive documentation for cloud operations
Commitment to identifying and implementing process and toolset enhancements to boost efficiency, reliability, and customer satisfaction
Ability to provide high-level support for complex issues, ensuring minimal disruption to services
Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related technical field
7+ years in infrastructure management, focusing on multi-cloud environments, including 3+ years in the AWS cloud platform
Demonstrated experience leading and managing operations of a global large-scale Infrastructure service
Qualified applicants must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis
