Senior Operations Research Analyst - PR 1334
PE Systems, Inc. is seeking a Senior Operations Research Analyst to support the Nuclear Command, Control, and Communications (NC3) Program at Kirkland AFB, NM. The role involves utilizing operations research techniques for predictive data analysis, collaborating with management to solve complex problems, and presenting findings to stakeholders.

Responsibilities
Be able to use a range of methods, including forecasting and data mining, to examine and interpret data
Implementing Operations Research (OR) techniques for consistent, predictive analysis of data to identify WS risks, issues, and opportunities
Identifying and tracking WS’s, including constituent systems, risks, issues, and opportunities
Shall have strong communication skills, including the ability to write memos, reports, and other documents and often present the data and conclusions to managers and other executives
Must be able to convey technical information in a way that is understandable to nontechnical audiences
Present the results of mathematical modeling and data analysis to management or other end users
Must have strong critical-thinking skills and must be able to organize information and make connections between ideas and facts
Must be able to collaborate with senior managers and decision makers to identify and solve a variety of problems and to clarify management objectives
Collaborate with others in the organization to ensure successful implementation of chosen problem solutions
Must have interpersonal skills with the ability to work on teams, persuade managers and executives to accept recommendations
Shall have the math skills to create models and methods to conduct appropriate research
Models and methods are rooted in statistics, calculus, linear algebra, and other mathematics disciplines
Must be able to formulate mathematical or simulation models of problems, relating constants and variables, restrictions, alternatives, conflicting objectives, and their numerical parameters
Shall be able to diagnose problems and study relevant information to solve them
Perform validation and testing of models to ensure adequacy and reformulate models as necessary
Utilizing and/or tailoring identified risks for implementation into the WS Worthiness Assessment (WWA) process
Aggregating and documenting the results of RIO analysis for presentation to AFNWC/NC leadership for situational awareness and to support decision-making
Supporting WS lead Command, and program offices as directed
Provide SME as required to AFNWC/NCW Division leadership and others within the AN/USQ-225 WS stakeholder community as directed
Shall be able to formulate and apply mathematical modeling and other optimizing methods to develop and interpret information that assists management with decision making, policy formulation, or other managerial functions
Shall have sufficient knowledge of applied mathematics to understand and use the fundamental concepts and techniques of operations research methods of analysis
May collect and analyze data and develop decision support software, services, or products
May develop and supply optimal time, cost, or logistics networks for program evaluation, review, or implementation
Developing, managing, and executing processes for assessing the WS ability to execute assigned missions
Qualification
Required
Accredited BA Degree in operations research or at least 24 semester hours in a combination of operations research, mathematics, probability, statistics, mathematical logic, science, or subject-matter courses requiring substantial competence in college-level mathematics or statistics, and 10 plus years of relevant experience
At least 3 of the 24 semester hours must have been in calculus
Courses acceptable for qualifying for operations research positions may have been taken in departments other than Operations Research, e.g., Engineering (usually Industrial Engineering), Science, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, or Management Science
Must possess and maintain a government security clearance at the Top-Secret/SCI level
Must have the ability to work on high-visibility or mission critical aspects of a given program and performs all functional duties independently
Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft programs (including Excel, Word, Outlook)
Must be able to transport self to various facility sites, as required. If using own motor vehicle, must possess a valid driver's license and proof of insurance
