CMM Operator/Programmer

START, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled CMM Operator/Programmer to join their manufacturing team. The role involves operating and programming Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) to ensure precise dimensional inspection and quality control of complex components, while maintaining compliance with industry standards.

Responsibilities

Operate and program Coordinate Measuring Machines (Zeiss, Calypso) to perform detailed dimensional inspections of manufactured parts
Conduct quality control and quality assurance inspections in accordance with AS9100, ISO 9001, and ISO 13485 standards
Interpret blueprints, schematics, and CAD models (SolidWorks, CAD) to determine inspection requirements
Utilize precision measuring instruments such as bore gauges, micrometers, calipers, and dial indicators for dimensional inspection
Perform geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) analysis to verify part conformity
Maintain calibration records for all measuring tools and coordinate with calibration technicians as needed
Ensure compliance with ASME codes & standards during inspection processes
Document inspection results accurately in quality management systems and communicate findings to manufacturing teams
Support continuous improvement initiatives related to measurement techniques and quality processes
Assist in troubleshooting measurement issues and recommend tooling or process adjustments to improve accuracy

Required

Proven experience operating Zeiss or Calypso CMM software; programming skills are essential
Strong knowledge of AS9100, ISO 9001, ISO 13485 standards, and quality management principles
Proficiency in blueprint reading, schematics, GD&T, and CAD software such as SolidWorks or similar tools
Mechanical knowledge related to machining, tooling, CNC operations, and manufacturing processes
Familiarity with precision measuring instruments including micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, dial indicators, and coordinate measuring machines
Understanding of ASME codes & standards relevant to manufacturing inspection
Ability to interpret technical drawings and schematics accurately
Excellent math skills for measurement calculations and data analysis
Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality assurance and quality control procedures

Preferred

Prior experience in a manufacturing or machining environment preferred; familiarity with ISO 9001 systems is advantageous
