Cambium Assessment is dedicated to developing academic tests covering Reading and Literacy. They are seeking an ELA/Social Studies Item Writer II to craft test items, review materials, and assist in developing assessments for various projects.

Responsibilities

Work in interdisciplinary teams to craft test items and performance tasks to measure what students have learned

Finds stimulus material for test use, obtaining copyright permission as needed

Craft and review the items themselves, using our state-of-the-art tools to create highly interactive items, simulations, and other types of tasks

Participates in group item reviews

Records team feedback on test items at one-on-one meetings and group review sessions

Assists with the assembly of field test and operational test forms

Contributes to the creation of ancillary testing materials for interpretive guides, score reports, and item release websites

Helps senior staff in the management of test item pools and the development of new assessments, products, and services

Assists with the creation of test specifications

Required

Bachelors degree in English or related field is required

2-3 years of relevant experience

Demonstrated imagination, analysis skills and attention to detail

Ability to identify problems and conceptualize solutions

Prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and work collaboratively with others

Required travel for this position ranges from 1 week to 6 weeks per year. Candidates should be able to travel as required for 2-3 days at a time, mostly in the June/July timeframe

Must have a reliable internet connection through a cable or fiber-optic broadband service with minimum speeds of 10 Mbps download and 5 Mbps upload

Expected to actively participate in video-based interviews during the recruiting process and ongoing virtual meetings with their camera on
