Responsibilities
Perform daily payroll department operations efficiently
Manage workflows to ensure timely and accurate payroll transactions
Reconcile payroll prior to transmission and validate confirmed reports
Ensure proper taxation of employer-paid benefits
Process and comply with garnishments and child support calculations
Prepare accurate and timely year-end payroll reports when necessary
Develop financial and operational reports as needed
Calculate back pay and make check corrections
Address employee and employer payroll inquiries through research and resolution
Qualification
Required
Associate degree in Business or Accounting required
4-6 years of experience in multi-state payroll processing
Strong understanding of child support income withholding orders (IWOs) and garnishments
Working knowledge of payroll best practices
Comprehensive understanding of federal, state, and local payroll regulations
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other PC applications
Strong work ethic, professionalism, and ability to maintain confidentiality
Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interfacing with various management levels
Decision-making, analytical, and problem-solving abilities
Organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritize effectively
Capacity to perform under tight deadlines, with availability for overtime as needed
Preferred
Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) preferred
Familiarity with Paycom Payroll Software preferred
