Medasource is a company specializing in healthcare and managed services, and they are seeking a SQL Database Administrator with a focus on Microsoft Fabric. The role involves supporting and optimizing Microsoft SQL Server environments while collaborating with analytics and data engineering teams to enhance data platforms.
Responsibilities
Administer Microsoft SQL Server environments (2016–2022) in production
Perform core DBA functions:
Backup and restore strategies
Index maintenance and query optimization
Capacity planning and storage management
Patch management and upgrades
Support SQL Server workloads across:
On-prem infrastructure
Azure SQL / SQL on Azure VMs
Support SQL workloads that feed or integrate with Microsoft Fabric
Assist with data movement and integration between:
SQL Server / Azure SQL
Microsoft Fabric (OneLake, Lakehouse, Warehouse)
Collaborate with analytics teams on:
Performance considerations for downstream Fabric workloads
Data modeling and refresh patterns
Troubleshoot issues related to:
Data ingestion into Fabric
SQL performance impacting Fabric pipelines
Monitor SQL Server health and performance across client environments
Troubleshoot blocking, deadlocks, and resource contention
Support high availability and disaster recovery solutions:
Always On Availability Groups
Failover Cluster Instances (FCI)
Qualification
Required
Administer Microsoft SQL Server environments (2016–2022) in production
Perform core DBA functions: Backup and restore strategies, Index maintenance and query optimization, Capacity planning and storage management, Patch management and upgrades
Support SQL Server workloads across: On-prem infrastructure, Azure SQL / SQL on Azure VMs
