Director, Consumer Insights & Creative Strategy
Neighborly is a hub of service brands connecting customers to local experts for home and business services. The Director of Consumer Insights & Creative Strategy will lead consumer research strategy and collaborate with marketing heads to develop actionable insights and creative strategies.
Responsibilities
Lead consumer research strategy and advise on execution, partnering with each Neighborly brand’s Head of Marketing to develop a brand-specific annual approach depending on the brand’s growth strategy focal points (e.g., brand positioning, pricing strategy, services offerings, customer upsell opportunities)
Develop new cost-effective, actionable brand health tracking strategy and execution plan across Neighborly brands
Leverage DIY survey technologies to write, execute, and analyze quantitative survey data
Influence internal and external stakeholders to ensure that consumer insights are embedded in decision-making
Concise explain insights coming from complex analyses through effective verbal/written communication
Partner with each year’s focus brands’ Head of Marketing to develop a new, differentiated creative strategy and write creative brand campaign briefs
Partner with Neighborly Creative Director to select and brief creative agencies to execute upon brand campaign briefs
Qualification
Required
10+ years of experience in a Consumer Insights, Market Research and / or Creative Strategy role, ideally with a mix across these roles
Extensive experience in conducting market research, including a deep understanding of which methodology is best-suited to answer each specific business question
Strong business strategy intuition, with the ability to continuously prioritize and drive focus on the most growth- accretive initiatives
A knack for – and special appreciation of – creative marketing strategy, with experience in writing creative briefs and working with (or within) a creative advertising agency
Well-honed understanding of what marketing creative is differentiated and effective
Ability to think critically and to interpret and apply processes across many different areas
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work autonomously with minimal supervision
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment under pressure while demonstrating the utmost professionalism and a strong customer-focused attitude
Excellent verbal, written (emphasis on mastery of drafting day-to-day business correspondence required), analytical, and organizational skills required
Excellent mastery of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook and Power Point required, with working knowledge or desire to learn various AI and analytics tools
Budget management skills and proficiency
Adept at and comfortable with oscillating between “the weeds” and “seeing the forest for the trees”
Possess intellectual curiosity, with the spirit of a perpetual student
4 Year Undergraduate degree Required
Preferred
MBA or Masters of Market Research recommended
