Responsibilities
Serve as “in-house technician” by providing hands-on technical support for hardware development, including assembly/mock-ups, troubleshooting, and maintenance of design prototypes and samples
Maintain and organize hardware libraries, material archives, and finish samples to ensure accessibility and accuracy for design teams
Responsible for calendar adherence, manage and track key project timelines, ensuring alignment across teams and timely delivery of hardware components
Act as “streamlining initiatives partner” by collaborating with design and cross-functional teams to identify and implement process improvements that enhance efficiency and reduce lead times
Serve as the subject matter expert for color and finish standards, ensuring consistency and quality across all hardware components
Act as a central point of contact for hardware-related needs across multiple categories, balancing priorities and optimizing resource allocation
Operate and maintain 3D printing equipment to produce prototypes and support rapid iteration during the design process
Thoroughly review all vendor technical specs and apply clear and concise feedback. Execute basic technical specifications for hardware sample corrections
CAD support through Illustrator and photoshop renderings based on conceptual direction
Oversee production of locally casted pieces as needed, managing vendor communications, refining processes, selecting appropriate materials, and coordinating delivery
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in industrial design, Fine Arts or related field (or equivalent experience)
5-7 years of experience in hardware development, design operations, or technical product development
Strong knowledge of materials, finishes, and hardware construction techniques
Proficiency in 3D printing technologies and CAD software
Exceptional organizational and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
Collaborative mindset and experience working in fast-paced, cross-functional environments
