Naval Nuclear Laboratory is dedicated to ensuring the safety and reliability of the nation's naval nuclear reactors. Responsibilities

Responsible for oversight of shipyard owned electric plant systems and components for the COLUMBIA class propulsion plant
Review of shipyard submittals addressing design, qualification, construction, and test issues for DC and AC electrical switchgear and power distribution equipment

Required

Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university in a related technical, engineering or science field and a minimum of 9 years of relevant experience
Masters degree from an accredited college or university in a related technical, engineering or science field and a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience
Doctorate degree from an accredited college or university in a related technical, engineering, science field and a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience
Currently a Principal Reactor Training Engineer, Refueling Engineer, or Field (RPCO) Engineer at the Company
All candidates must be U.S. citizens
Applicants selected will be subject to a Federal background investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified matter
All candidates must be able to pass a drug test in compliance with FMP company policy and 10 CFR 707

Preferred

Knowledge of power distribution equipment and protective devices
Experience supporting submarine integrated electric plant design, testing, and/or operation
Demonstrated ability to work effectively as a team member
Desired – Experience/qualification for electrical safety work
