Responsibilities

Deliver technical assistance to external and internal customers for their process control solutions needs
Execute Applied Control's overall business strategy and initiatives through interactions at various levels with customers and vendors
Provide internal sales and technical support to account managers and outside sales specialists, exhibiting teamwork and effective communications
Understand and effectively communicate customer needs and business issues to colleagues, positioning Applied Control as our customers’ trusted advisor
Develop an unmatched level of expertise in the application of all our final control element products and solutions offered, delivering quality solutions and services to our many customers and industries
Support customer activities including, but not limited to: responding to telephone and email requests, delivering technical product and application knowledge and support, and conducting terms and conditions negotiations
Must be able to work independently and as part of a team, extensive phone and email communications with customers is expected
Limited travel may apply. The Application Engineer positions require short, out-of-town paid training sessions

Required

Strong technical background
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Highly effective at building long term relationships
Entrepreneurial work ethic
Use of MS Office products and other industry related software tools such as sizing, application, and quotation tools, and Windows OS
Requires the ability to read and understand process and instrumentation drawings (P&ID's) and conform customer instrumentation and final control specification sheets into properly applied products
Great problem-solving skills

Preferred

A college degree in Engineering - Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial strongly preferred
