Responsibilities

Prepares and evaluates human cellular samples from all body sites, under the direction of a pathologist, to detect pre-cancerous changes, cancer, benign tumors, infectious agents, and inflammatory processes

May also prepare specimens, attend fine needle aspirations, and assist in quality assurance activities

Qualification

Cytotechnologist certificationBachelor Degree in CytotechnologyQuality assurance activities

Required

4 year Bachelor Degree from a CAHEA accredited school of Cytotechnology or other organization approved by Health and Human Services

Cytotechnologist certification – must be from American Society of Clinical Pathology

Munson Healthcare requires all employees be vaccinated or have lab confirmed immunity for Measles, Mumps, Rubella and Varicella

MHC also requires all employees to receive a flu vaccine during the flu season in the year that they are hired and annually thereafter, or receive an approved medical or religious exemption
