Pace® Labs is dedicated to making the world a safer and healthier place through scientific innovation. They are seeking an Entry Level Physical Properties Technician to perform and oversee projects in material properties testing within their research and development lab.

Responsibilities

Running chemical-mechanical planarization equipment
Assembling silicon wafers and abrasive pads for testing
Material properties analysis including DMA, hardness, eddy current, etc
Analyze samples by confocal laser scanning microscopy, atomic force microscopy (AFM) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM)
Analyze samples by supporting techniques including optical interferometry
General lab maintenance duties
Clean, maintain and calibrate instruments
Maintain detailed and organized documentation on all laboratory work

Qualification

Required

Bachelor's degree in Chemistry/ Biochemistry or a closely related field, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
Time management skills and a high level of independence after the training phase
Good organizational skills, record keeping, and follow through will be integral to success
Ability to communicate effectively verbally and by email
Familiarity with Microsoft Office Applications
Ability to perform work in a lab or office setting, remain standing for long periods while conducting tests, work around strong smells, and wear personal protective equipment while handling samples (e.g., lab coat, safety glasses and gloves; all PPE provided by Pace®)
