Engineer, Senior or Staff Engineer-Reactor Engineering VC Summer

Responsibilities
Supporting reactor startup testing, including physics testing and data analysis
Monitoring core performance and provide recommendations for operational improvements
Interfacing with operations, maintenance, and regulatory personnel to ensure compliance with safety and licensing requirements
Participate in refueling outage planning and execution, including fuel shuffle planning and post-outage verification
Maintain and improve reactor engineering tools and methodologies
Qualification
Required
2 or more years of engineering experience for Engineer level
5 or more years of engineering experience for Sr Engineer level
8 or more years of engineering experience for Staff Engineer level
Reactor Engineering and/or Core Design experience is required
Must have thorough communication knowledge and skills
Must have a strong grasp of engineering principles and skills
Must be able to plan, direct, coordinate overall engineering for specific projects
Must be able to plan and direct engineering activities in support of nuclear operations
Must perform field supervision of complex engineering projects
Must evaluate and approve design changes and modifications
Must review work and evaluate work of subordinate engineers
Must develop specifications
Must review and qualify complex project bids from a technical overview
Must perform or oversee performance test and system compatibility
Must perform short and long term condition assessment of components and systems
Must provide leadership, direction, development and guidance to employees within similar disciplined classification of engineering work groups
Must have at least one year of Nuclear power experience
Possess a 4-year Engineering degree from an ABET accredited Engineering program
Possess a 4-year Engineering degree from an institution outside of the U.S. which is accredited through the country's own Engineering accrediting body under the Washington Accord
Possess a 4-year degree in Engineering (non-ABET accredited), Physics, Chemistry, Math or Engineering Technology and a post-graduate Engineering degree from an institution where the undergraduate degree in the same Engineering discipline is ABET-accredited
Holds or has previously held a valid U.S. Professional Engineer license
Bachelor's in Engineering, Nuclear
Preferred
Experience with flux mapping
Experience with reactivity management
Experience with startup physics testing
Experience with fuel movement planning
Experience with new fuel receipt inspection
Experience with fuel handling support
Experience with Special Nuclear Material accounting
Experience with online reactor core monitoring
A background with three loop Westinghouse ANC core design
Experience with BEACON™ software
