Associate Data Center Technician (Level 1)

Responsibilities

Execute break/fix tickets, project cards, and decommission tasks following established DCT procedures and work instructions
Perform rack installations following build guides including mounting equipment, cable routing, and proper labeling standards
Conduct inventory audits and maintain accurate asset records in management systems
Respond to on-shift incidents under supervision, performing basic troubleshooting and escalating appropriately
Install base macOS following documented procedures
Understand basic networking concepts: IP addressing, subnetting, gateway configuration, and connectivity testing
Perform cable terminations using appropriate hand tools
Verify physical layer connectivity and document installation work
Follow all safety protocols and site-specific procedures
Work with senior technicians for quality control reviews
Maintain organized work areas and proper tool management
Participate in team training and knowledge-sharing sessions

Required

0-2 years in data center, IT infrastructure, or related technical field
Basic understanding of server hardware, networking equipment, and cabling standards
Proficient with Microsoft Office suite and ticketing systems
Attention to detail and ability to follow technical documentation
Effective time management and ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Willingness to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and on-call rotation
Must be able to safely use a ladder
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time
Require the use of hands to fingers
Frequent sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing
Must be able to distinguish different colors
Require use of tools such as screwdrivers
