Purchasing Manager

Communicate with clarity and consistency; cascade key company messages to ensure alignment, engagement, and buy-in at all levels

Create and maintain meaningful relationships with suppliers, manufacturers, and material providers
Develop and maintain a professional business rapport with suppliers
Work closely with Engineering, Production, Service, and other teams to ensure effective communication with suppliers
Quarterly and annual scorecard review for critical suppliers
Oversee quality control with Viking Masek’s respective suppliers, manufacturers, and material providers
Perform risk management assessments to mitigate potential issues with suppliers
Work with co-workers and suppliers to resolve items and ensure quality standards are met
Develop sourcing strategies and purchasing procedures within company guidelines
Implement effective supplier cost management activities to deliver savings to the organization
Negotiate pricing, terms, and lead-times with suppliers to ensure cost-effective procurement
Create Purchase Orders as necessary and monitor all purchase requisitions, handling adjustments with vendors
Develop and maintain supplier agreements, contracts, company SOPs, forms, and any other pertinent documentation related to the department
Assist in the quoting process to ensure compliance with company procedures
Be an expert in the ERP and any other vendor management software to streamline procurement processes
Develop and oversee the purchasing playbook, documenting all policies, checklists, and task owners to ensure consistency, accuracy, and compliance in procurement operations
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field
5-7 years of experience in purchasing or supply chain management
Proficiency in ERP systems and vendor management systems
Strong communication, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently in a deadline-sensitive, fast-paced environment
Strong relationship management and influencing skills
Preferred
Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM) or Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP)
