Welding Engineer
AUTOKINITON is a leading North American supplier of propulsion-agnostic, structural automotive components and assemblies. The Welding Engineer role involves interfacing with manufacturing to resolve welding systems issues, programming welding equipment, and assisting in maintaining welding integrity while training and mentoring colleagues.

Responsibilities
Interface with manufacturing and maintenance to resolve welding systems issues
Program robots, pedestal welders, and all other types of welding related equipment
Assist Quality Assurance department in maintaining welding integrity
Train, coach and mentor the welding process for weld engineers, manufacturing and skilled trades colleagues
Direct and/or participate in root cause analysis and tam problem solving activities (e.g. 8D reports, department meetings, etc.)
This role reports to the Maintenance Manager
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in weld engineering/technology from four-year college or university; five years plus related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Hands-on experience in manual and automated welding processes
Proficient in MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook
Electrical enclosures, power requirements for welding, and testing requirements
Customer welding specification and testing requirements
Gas metal arc welding
Preferred
Highly Desired Skills in resistance spot welding, drawn arc stud welding, gas metal arc welding, adhesive/sealer systems (Nordson & Johnstone), Dispenser vision systems (Coherix), weld timers (WTC & Bosch), robotic programming (Fanuc/Motoman/Yaskawa), weld shielding gas technologies, etc
