Responsibilities

Operates alll hemodynamic monitoring equipment including cardiac output, AVO2 and blood gas. Records all patient values, reports and maintains records according to department policies

Assists in the cleanup of room following procedure to include appropriate disposal of used supplies,handling of instruments, returning and restocking supplies. Also, participates in restocking, resupplying and cleaning of the support areas

Assists in positioning, prepping and draping patients for procedures. Gives patients explanations and verbal reassurances consistently

Sets up and scrubs for procedures in a timely manner maintaining aseptic technique

Within scope of practice, starts IV's with N/S, (no medications unless RN)

Other related job tasks or responsibilities as assigned

Qualification

Cardiac Catheterization Lab experienceCardiovascular technology trainingARRT certificationRegistered Cardiovascular Invasive SpecialistCritical thinking

Required

2 years' experience in an acute care Cardiac Catheterization Lab or CVOR

Graduated from an accredited two-year cardiovascular technology training program; or surgical technology program; or equivalent on the job training including a minimum three-month orientation

ARRT certification

Demonstrates critical thinking in relation to patient management and physician interaction

Preferred

Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) certification
