Responsibilities
Determine optimal methods for interconnecting systems to enhance overall architecture performance, scalability, and reliability
Design and define system interfaces, integration pathways, and communication mechanisms
Identify what data should be shared across systems to support mission needs, analytics, and operational decision-making
Define the data outputs the architecture must generate, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and alignment with user or mission requirements
Develop data flow diagrams, interface control documents (ICDs), and architecture models
Evaluate existing system architectures to identify opportunities for improved performance, reduced latency, and increased system resilience
Recommend architectural enhancements or system changes based on technical analysis and best practices
Work with stakeholders to understand mission or customer requirements and translate them into architectural designs, data needs, and integration specifications
Ensure that architectural solutions meet technical, schedule, security, and cost constraints
Collaborate with engineers, program managers, and external partners to ensure coherent system-of-systems integration
Provide architectural guidance throughout development, testing, and deployment phases
Qualification
Required
Experience with remote sensing
Must have satellite/airborne experience
Experience designing and integrating complex system architectures
Strong understanding of system-to-system communication, interoperability, and interface design
Experience determining data-sharing requirements and defining system outputs
Ability to analyze and optimize architecture performance
Strong communication and documentation skills, including experience developing diagrams, specifications, or interface documents
Degree in Computer Sciences, Systems Engineering, Systems Analysis, or related disciplines
MA/MS degree with 13+ years of relevant experience, OR
BA/BS degree with 15+ years of relevant experience in a discipline aligned with the position's responsibilities
