INTEGRATED AIR AND MISSILE DEFENSE SPECIALIST

USAJOBS is seeking an Integrated Air and Missile Defense Specialist to serve as a Homeland Defense Operations Specialist in the Integrated Air and Missile Defense Defeat Mechanisms Division of NORAD J3. The role involves directing and executing NORAD staff support and policy determination in support of integrated air and missile defense of the homelands across the NORAD Enterprise.

Responsibilities

Serves as NORAD operations specialist for integrated air and missile defense (IAMD) defeat mechanism capability, acquisition, and employment across the NORAD Enterprise
Conducts and coordinates long-range, highly complex, and sensitive studies to improve and influence Integrated Air and Missile Defense Operations for Cruise Missile Defense of North America
Serves as NORAD IAMD technical advisor to managers, supervisors, and partners in support of Homeland Defense Operations
Attends meetings and develops oral/written staff correspondence

Males must be registered for Selective Service
Top Secret/Special Sensitive clearance is required for this position
The employee is required to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/Special Sensitive as a condition of employment
This position is designated by the Air force as a Test Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Drug Testing Program
Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-12, or equivalent in other pay systems
Knowledge of DOD military command structure, missions, and relationships
Knowledge of a comprehensive range of existing and developing adversary cruise and hypersonic missile capabilities
Strong understanding of specific airborne and ground-based early warning sensors, missile systems and other defeat mechanisms, and associated C2 architecture
Knowledge of Tactics, Techniques and Procedures for homeland defense
Knowledge of the Joint Operational Planning and Execution System (JOPES) and the traditional military decision making process
Ability to gather, assemble and analyze facts, draw conclusions, and conduct logical analysis
Skill in preparing and presenting oral and written briefings, papers, or reports suitable for senior leadership use and decision making
Skill in adapting to a quickly changing crisis and the ability to concisely communicate the changes to senior leadership
