Responsibilities
Your application for Analysis Engineering Internship will be considered across all opportunities for the teams listed below. These teams use a variety of numerical simulation tools to support other engineering teams in the design of Tesla’s vehicles, factories and energy products
The Crash Structures Analysis team is responsible for ensuring that vehicle structures are designed to safely dissipate the energy and forces involved in crash events. This team focuses on the performance of the body, chassis, closures, and high-voltage battery structures analyzing performance in crash loadcases using structural nonlinear Finite Element (FEA) tools
The Durability Analysis team is responsible for ensuring that vehicle structures meet our targets for product quality and longevity. This team’s scope extends to nearly every vehicle system, assessing strength, stiffness, modal response, and fatigue life in static and dynamic (time and frequency domain) events. To assess this the team uses a mix of linear and non-linear Finite Element (FEA) tools, alongside specialized tools for fatigue life, multi-body dynamics, and hydrodynamics
The Multiphysics team has a wide range of analysis responsibilities across vehicles and factories development, carried out by means of FEA, CFD/CHT, and ray tracing codes. They support vehicle engineering in simulating performance attributes in thermal loads (solar, climatic), water management (wading, rain), and ray tracing (cameras, imagery, A-Surface aesthetics). They also support manufacturing engineering in analyzing production equipment such as paint shops tanks, ovens, and booths processes
