SCO Family of Services is seeking a Law Intern for a 7-week position to work closely with its Chief Legal Counsel and staff in the Legal Department during the summer. The intern will gain experience in legal research, writing, and various legal matters while supporting the Legal Department of a large not-for-profit organization serving vulnerable children and families in New York.

Required

Law student completing the first or second year of law school by the Summer of 2025

Interest in public service and a career in public interest

Excellent research and writing skills

Strong intellectual curiosity

Interest in not-for-profit law, family law, health law, or an area of the law that overlaps with SCO's mission

Submission of a cover letter that describes interest in SCO's Summer 2026 Law Internship program and highlights experience and background demonstrating commitment to public interest work and/or public service

Submission of a resume

Submission of current academic transcript

Submission of a writing sample (no more than 5 pages long) that showcases research and writing skills
