Information Technology Intern

The New York State Insurance Fund (NYSIF) is seeking an Information Technology Intern to provide remote technical support for staff and external customers. The intern will assist with hardware and software support, onboarding new employees, and maintaining hardware inventory.

Responsibilities

Provide remote technical support via the Service Desk for NYSIF staff and external customers
Address service requests and provide assistance to end users as it relates to NYSIF personal computing, both hardware and software
Image computers
Provide new employee onboarding support
Configure mobile devices
Support all ITS Teams with hardware deployments, installations and system maintenance
Create and maintain user and instructional documentation
Assist with the ITS hardware asset hardware inventory, including the maintenance of hardware inventory system data, participation in the annual Physical Inventory and hardware disposals
Demonstrated ability to engage in good customer service skills when working with end users is required

Required

Be actively enrolled in a New York State college, university, or graduate program, or be a resident of New York State, attending a college, university or graduate program outside of New York State
Have completed a minimum of one (1) year as a student at a degree-granting two or four year college or university (completion of one year's worth of academic credits over a longer period may qualify part-time students for participation in the program) or be a currently enrolled graduate student or accepted in a graduate degree program
Have a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 2.0, or the letter grade equivalent
Must be able to work at least part-time summer (10-15 hours per week, with the opportunity to work fall and spring depending on availability); full-time summer hours preferred
Ability to lift at least 25 pounds
Demonstrated ability to engage in good customer service skills when working with end users is required
