Responsibilities
Perform complex and significant engineering tasks efficiently and accurately
Extract engineering information from CAD drawings and prepare engineering computations, material quantity takeoffs, estimates, surveys, and designs
Complete a variety of assignments, including drawings, specifications, and other materials suitable for procurement and construction purposes
Interface frequently with other engineering disciplines and departments
Prepare detailed requisitions for equipment and materials
Review supplier drawing submittals and perform technical bid analyses
Prepare and issue specifications, data sheets, and other construction documents
Provide technical guidance to CAD Designers/Drafters, Designers, and junior Engineers working on the same project
Provide the seal and signature of the professional engineer, as appropriate, ensuring compliance with all applicable codes, regulations, and ordinances
Act in an advisory capacity to senior management on engineering-related matters
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Engineering (or related field) with 12+ years of related work experience
Professional Engineer (PE) registration may be required
Proficiency in utilizing CAD and other PC software packages typically associated with engineering
Willingness to travel or relocate to supplier, client, or construction site locations as needed
Exceptional communication, analytical, and management skills
Versatile and enthusiastic, with the ability to work in a highly flexible, team-oriented environment
Preferred
Experience with NYSDOT, PANYNJ, and NYCDOT is a plus
