Responsibilities
Monthly revenue recognition for OPWDD fee for service programs including but not limited to IRA, ICF, Day Habilitation and clinic programs
Prepare monthly reconciliation of AR aging reports to Control AR account in general ledger
Posting of Medicaid, Medicare and third-party managed care cash receipts
Review outstanding receivables to determine the likelihood of collections to determine if allowance or write off is necessary
Reconciliation of allowance for doubtful accounts
Work closely with Billing department to ensure that all services provided are billed and recorded
In depth knowledge of Medicaid compliance rules and regulations
Preparation and data entry of journal entries via uploads
Preparation of annual audit lead scheduled for outside auditors
Performs all other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Accounting
2 plus years in revenue recognition experience
Proficient in Excel (VLOOKUP's, Pivot Tables and IF functions)
Experience with Medicaid billing software required: Experience with Millan a plus
In depth knowledge of Medicaid compliance rules and regulations
Performs all job responsibilities in full compliance with all applicable laws, rules, regulations, policies and procedures
Adheres to the agency's corporate compliance program, including the code of business conduct, the NYS and federal false claims acts, whistleblower protections and mandatory reporting
Completes corporate compliance training at least annually
Fully cooperates in all corporate compliance investigations and reviews
Preferred
Knowledge of Oracle Accounting Software a plus
