Senior Manager / Director – Business Development & Sales (North America)

Responsibilities
Develop and deliver a comprehensive business development strategy for North America, aligned with thyssenkrupp Polysius’ global objectives
Identify, pursue and secure new business opportunities within cement, lime, construction-materials, and adjacent sustainable solutions markets in North America
Build and maintain strong and long-term relationships with executive stakeholders on CxO level at client and partner organizations
Drive the full sales lifecycle: from opportunity identification through qualification, proposal development, negotiation and contract closure
Drive the development of high-quality, competitive leads and proposals
Collaborate with internal global teams (proposal Management, engineering, product lifecycle and service) to craft compelling value propositions and commercial models
Stay abreast of North American market trends in cement, supplementary cementitious materials (SCMs), decarbonization, circular economy, regulation and technology innovation
Translate trends into strategic insights and feed these into product/solution roadmap discussions
Act as thought-leader and external ambassador: represent thyssenkrupp Polysius at major industry conferences/events, drive visibility and credibility in the sustainability/green cement domain
Work cross-functionally with global sales, marketing, service teams and product divisions to align goals, resources and deliverables
Mentor and support regional business development team members (if applicable), ensuring achievement of performance goals
Promote and embed thyssenkrupp Polysius’ values, sustainability agenda and culture of innovation in all client engagements
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Engineering (e.g., Chemical, Mechanical, Civil), Business Administration or related field required
Minimum 10+ years of progressive experience in business development, sales or commercial leadership within the cement, building-materials or heavy industrial equipment sector
Proven track record of developing and closing high-value deals in North America (or globally) and managing executive-level relationships
Deep knowledge of cement production process, supplementary cementitious materials (SCMs), decarbonization / sustainability technologies
Experience working in a global business environment, managing cross-border sales and frequent international travel
Strategic mindset, strong negotiation and closing skills
Excellent communication, presentation skills and ability to engage with C-suite executives
Goal-driven, self-motivated and able to thrive in an international, dynamic environment
Ability to articulate complex technical solutions (e.g., green technologies, CCS, SCMs) into compelling business value
Comfortable with frequent travel (domestic North America + global) and adaptable to different cultural/business contexts
