Director, Executive Compensation

Responsibilities

Administers the company’s executive compensation & equity plans and programs including deferred compensation
Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership and HR business partners on executive compensation matters
Function as point of contact for senior leaders within the organization to provide information and consultation on their total rewards package
Develops and implements executive compensation and programs based on Elanco’s compensation philosophy, culture, business strategy, and market practices
Partner with internal and external stakeholders to design and recommend short- and long-term incentive programs, including equity plans and performance-based awards
Prepares materials, agenda, and planning for the Compensation & Human Capital Committee of the Board of Directors
Prepares the CD&A, relevant tables, and other content for the annual proxy, consulting legal, finance, and other partners as necessary
Partner with Legal, Finance, and external advisors on executive pay governance and disclosures
Manages applicable executive compensation and equity vendor relationships
Conducts executive market pricing activities including job matching, data analytics, job pricing, and executive compensation survey submissions
Provide modeling and scenario analysis to support decision-making on pay structures and equity allocation
Assists in the due diligence analysis for mergers and acquisitions and other corporate transactions
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align total rewards programs with broader HR and business strategies

Required

Bachelor's degree in finance, business administration, human resources, or related field is required
A minimum of 8 years of experience in progressive compensation or related experience with 3 years in executive compensation within a public company environment
Design/administer STI/LTI/equity programs; deep SEC/proxy and federal/state regulatory knowledge; experienced with Compensation Committee/Board materials and engagement; M&A compensation integration; collaborate with external providers
Strong financial/analytical skills and data storytelling; project/change management across multiple priorities; excellent interpersonal communication with senior stakeholders; advanced Excel/PowerPoint; proficiency with HR/comp systems (e.g., Workday)
Proven experience preparing materials for Compensation Committees, working with senior executives and external providers
Understanding of financial statements and financial metrics
Strong project and change management skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities and deadlines
Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret and communicate data
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including demonstrated experience working collaboratively with multiple disparate stakeholders at all levels including the Board of Directors

Knowledge of federal and state regulations and legislation that impacts executive total rewards programs
Advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills
Experience with compensation and HR Systems (Workday preferred)
