Audio Visual Support Engineer

BSI Tech, LLC is a low voltage technology integrator focused on enabling smart building outcomes. They are seeking a full-time Audio Visual Support Engineer to provide direct AV support in a dynamic environment, collaborating with teams globally and ensuring high-profile room technology functions as expected.

Responsibilities

Act as point of escalation for complex AV system performance deficiencies. Collaborate with senior engineering and vendor teams to document and resolve system anomalies
Verify conference high-profile room technology is functioning as expected by performing physical inspection of the equipment and regular review of reporting available from software monitoring tools
Troubleshoot complex system anomalies using standardized approach and develop documentation to share with the team. Develop custom solutions as required to address root cause
Lead both local and global hardware replacement and device software configuration. Collaborate with technical teams remotely to verify functionality and resolve unexpected issues
Actively engage with the management team to build and execute program process. Proactively develop optimization plans for team consideration
Manage and respond to issues reported by client employees through the ticketing system and other intake mechanisms to meet the contracted Service Level Agreement s (SLAs)
Defining and test new AV design concepts and deployments using lessons learned from support cases and input from technician team
Travel to international office locations for project work 1-2 times per year, as well as provide remote support to global offices during off hours on a periodic basis
Represent owner’s team in system design and installation review and acceptance
Provide training and mentorship to team members and end users
Provide system level reviews of regional system integrator installation design and deployment plans against the Global AV Design standards. Identity inconsistencies and work with the BSI engineer of record to resolve
Establish and maintain strong vendor relationships for support; escalate performance concerns to the management team
Create records about inventory, maintenance and other key details related to client equipment

Required

High School Diploma or GED Equivalent is required
5+ years of experience providing technical support
5+ years experience in commercial audio visual technology and networking
Programming and advanced networking experience
Deep experience in multicast video and IGMP troubleshooting
Ability to travel to global locations 1-2 times per year
Ability to sit, stand, stoop or bend for extended periods of time
Periodic extended instances of walking throughout the campus to support meetings, sweeps and events
Periodic off hours event support – pre-arranged and communicated
Occasional domestic and international travel
Office related tasks may require prolonged sitting/standing

Preferred

Associate's degree in audiovisual technology or related field is preferred
Avixa CTS certification (CTS-I, CTS-D) is a preferred
QSYS Level 1 and Level 2 certification
Dante Level 1 and Level 2 certification
Crestron NVX certified engineer (DMC-E-NVX)
Experience with Shure Microflex products
Familiarity with XML formatting and editing
Proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically Microsoft Teams
Customer service mindset
