Responsibilities
Fluent use of Design programs in an Apple environment. Vectorworks , Rhinoceros, Photoshop
Familiarity with digital media, world and contemporary art, and building trades is valuable. Must have a dynamic sense of color, space and lighting
Position will include the design of exhibitions by himself/herself, from concept to completion and other duties as assigned
Collaborate with curators, exhibition managers, graphic designers, shops, outside vendors, and other professionals to create outstanding exhibitions
Position will include the design of walls, pedestals, platforms, vitrines, and other support structures; mount specifications; paint plans; lighting and audio/visual specification; sourcing of materials
Assist Director of Exhibition Design in overseeing overall institutional aesthetics
Provide guidance to junior designers
Administrative duties include billing, purchasing, as well as reconciliation of expenses
Qualification
Required
A degree in Architecture, 3-Dimensional Design or related area required
Ideal candidate will have 3-5 years' experience in Museum or art-related exhibition design with a portfolio of work
Proven ability to collaborate with other Museum or arts professionals, and production manage an inter-disciplinary staff toward installation
Knowledge of Museum display methods, conservation technique and electronic media
Ability to collaborate with other Museum professionals, to work creatively and to remain on schedule and in budget essential
Preferred
