The Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) is recruiting a senior faculty member to establish a neurorehabilitation research program within the Department of Health Sciences & Research. The role involves collaboration with existing research teams to expand neurorehabilitation research and develop innovative approaches to rehabilitation for individuals with neurological conditions.

Responsibilities
The successful applicant will collaborate with and complement current research teams/centers to help grow and expand neurorehabilitation research at MUSC. Key centers and collaborative opportunities include:
Center for Rehabilitation Research in Neurological Conditions
Center of Biomedical Research Excellence (COBRE) in Stroke Recovery (NIH funded)
The Center for Healthy Aging
Center for Health Data Innovation & Impact
MUSC Institute for Neuroscience Discovery (MIND)
South Carolina Alzheimer’s Network (SCAN) – based at MUSC
Qualification
Required
PhD in a field related to cognitive or rehabilitation science
History of obtaining external research funding
Strong skills in fostering collaborations
Expertise in cutting-edge research methodologies and design
Extensive experience collaborating with rehabilitation scientists
Preferred
Experience in cognitive and physical rehabilitation of aging related dysfunction
Knowledge of cognitive effects/benefits of exercise
Expertise in neural control of movement
Familiarity with brain stimulation/neuromodulation techniques
Experience with mindfulness and other rehabilitation approaches for improving brain and body function
Understanding of neuroplasticity/neural recovery and aging/degeneration processes
Experience with cognitive assessments and interventions for individuals with Alzheimer's Disease and related dementias
Knowledge of neuroplasticity and brain health
Experience with post-acute care services and outcomes
Familiarity with neuropsychological, language/communication, behavioral and psychosocial function related to neural impairment
Knowledge of neuromodulation methods (TMS, tDCS, VNS)
Experience with neuroimaging techniques (fMRI, PET, EEG, diffusion, MRS, TMS-fMRI-EEG)
Familiarity with neurodegeneration biomarkers
Experience with advanced statistical approaches (machine learning)
Knowledge of connectomes
