Responsibilities
Serve as the primary finance partner for Instacart’s International expansion, owning end‑to‑end financial forecasting, business planning, and performance management for new and emerging markets
Partner closely with cross‑functional leaders (e.g., Product, Operations, Strategy, Legal, Policy) to evaluate market entry opportunities, assess investment trade‑offs, and provide clear recommendations that shape Instacart’s global growth strategy
Build and refine complex financial models to support scenario planning in a highly ambiguous environment, enabling the executive team to make fast, data‑driven decisions
Develop actionable insights by analyzing market dynamics, unit economics, and operational performance across countries; highlight risks, surface opportunities, and drive accountability with senior stakeholders
Thrive in a fast‑paced and constantly evolving environment, establishing structure where needed while adapting processes, forecasts, and recommendations as the International landscape rapidly changes
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, Data Science, Mathematics, or a related field
6+ years of experience in Corporate Finance, FP&A, or another analytical field, with demonstrated financial acumen and a track record of driving measurable business impact
High proficiency in financial modeling, forecasting, and data‑driven decision support
Strong attention to detail, with excellent project management and organizational skills
Clear, polished communication skills with proven experience presenting to and influencing executives
Ability to build trusted partnerships with cross‑functional stakeholders at all levels
Self‑starter mindset with the ability to operate in a fast‑paced, evolving environment and navigate ambiguity with confidence
Preferred
Experience in FP&A, Corporate or Strategic Finance, investment banking, investing, consulting, equity research, or data science/analytics
Prior experience working in consumer marketplace or technology-driven businesses
Experience operating in a public company environment
Interest in leveraging AI and automation tools to improve workflows, efficiency, and insights
Proficiency in SQL or other analytical query languages
Ability to work from our San Francisco or New York City office on occasion
