Communications & Marketing Intern

The New York State Insurance Fund (NYSIF) is seeking a motivated Communications & Marketing Intern to assist with digital content creation, social media planning, internal communications, and day-to-day departmental projects. Responsibilities

Assist in planning, drafting, and scheduling content for NYSIF’s social media platforms
Monitor social media channels for trends, engagement opportunities, and potential reputational risks
Support communication projects including newsletters, intranet updates, website content, and presentations
Help create digital assets such as graphics, short videos, and campaign materials
Conduct research to support communications initiatives, including audience insights, competitive analysis, and best practices
Assist with event support, photography, note-taking, and logistics as needed
Update content libraries, editorial calendars, and media tracking logs
Collaborate with subject-matter experts and internal teams to ensure messaging accuracy and compliance
Provide general administrative and project support to the Communications office

Qualification

Required

Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university program (Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism, Digital Media, or similar preferred)
Strong academic standing. 3.0 or higher – Juniors and/or Seniors
Ability to commit to agreed-upon hours during the semester
Professionalism, confidentiality, and a willingness to learn

Strong writing and editing abilities
Familiarity with social media platforms (LinkedIn, X, Facebook, Instagram)
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
