Chief Communications & Public Affairs Officer

The International City/County Management Association (ICMA) is seeking a Chief Communications & Public Affairs Officer for Santa Monica, a vibrant coastal city in Southern California. This role involves managing the City's legislative platform, supporting the City Council, and developing an integrated strategic communications plan while overseeing relevant staff divisions.

Responsibilities

Manage the City’s legislative platform
Support the City Council
Develop and implement an annual, integrated strategic communications plan
Oversee staff in the Policy & Legislative Affairs and Communications divisions

Required

Six years of increasingly responsible marketing, communications and/or public or government affairs experience in a leadership role with a comparable complex organization
Two years supervising professionals
Bachelor's degree
