Responsibilities
Prepare and manage live signal delivery across various connectivity types (Internet, EVPL, P2P, MPLS)
Configure and test devices prior to scheduled broadcasts
Monitor live feeds, troubleshoot technical issues, and ensure uninterrupted broadcast delivery
Provide on-call/on-site support during technical issues and be available on weekends during critical live broadcast events
Manage end-to-end Zixi-based streaming operations
Configure, test, and deploy IP stream packages
Serve as the primary technical contact with Zixi for support, upgrades, and feature rollouts
Monitor and maintain Zixi server clusters; escalate issues and resolve bugs proactively
Configure and maintain servers, streaming applications, receivers, and connectivity for programming continuity operations
Troubleshoot video/audio signals, software, and hardware components
Document workflows, system diagrams, follow and enforce SOPs to reduce service disruptions
Mentor and guide junior engineers and operational staff
Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement
Lead or support the deployment of new technologies, upgrades, and infrastructure migrations
Evaluate and implement emerging technologies, including 5G, cloud platforms, and AI-driven tools
Ensure compliance with industry standards (e.g., Closed Captioning, DVB Subtitles)
Implement monitoring and QA techniques for consistent, high-quality service delivery
Operate and maintain satellite compression head ends
Collaborate with satellite capacity teams and vendors
Plan and lead technical initiatives, manage requirements, and define system workflows
Setup, maintain, configure and troubleshoot IT/IP Networks, servers, and software applications, related to IP, Cloud and TV content delivery platforms, including on-prem infrastructure, Internet connectivity, and streaming clusters
Develop, deploy and maintain new servers, OS (Windows and Linux), applications, widgets, APIs, and apps aim to optimize products, services, operations, efficiency and reliability
Follow and document standard operating procedures (SOPs) to minimize service disruptions. Generate, follow and enforce SOP practices to mitigate services interruptions
Prepare and test network connections (Internet, EVPL, P2P, MPLS) for live TV broadcasts, ensuring devices are fully configured and operational before events
Monitor systems and troubleshoot real-time issues to maintain uninterrupted live broadcast services
Set up and manage Zixi streaming servers, applications, IP stream configurations, and performance enhancements
Monitor Zixi clusters for performance, packet loss, channel alarms, and connectivity issues, ensuring reliable stream delivery
Design, implement, and document the IT architecture supporting video acquisition, processing, and distribution
Integrate third-party systems including servers, firewalls, transcoders, and cloud services
Provide technical leadership and mentorship to team members
Foster a collaborative and high-performance work environment that promotes innovation and growth
Maintain network documentation (IP schemes, multicast addresses, provider interfaces, etc.) and proactively address network issues
Ensure stable and high-quality service delivery through effective network management
Lead infrastructure upgrades, migrations, and new technology deployments
Stay ahead of emerging trends such as 5G, cloud computing, and AI to drive innovation in TV delivery
Ensure systems comply with industry standards and best practices
Build robust monitoring dashboards and diagnostic protocols for service quality and uptime
Contribute to cross-functional planning and discussions around satellite and terrestrial delivery
Support procurement of hardware, software, and services for IT-related operations
Qualification
Required
Demonstrated experience with IP-based TV delivery: encoding, packaging, CDN, Zixi/SRT/RIST, HLS/DASH, etc
At least 3 years working with public/on-prem cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) deploying broadcast workflows
Deep understanding of video/audio processing, file-based systems, and satellite TV signal chains
Proficient with broadcast infrastructure, signal compression, and IP video protocols
Familiarity with content encryption and security protocols (DVB CA, AES 128/256)
5 years of experience in IT networking and applications, ideally within the broadcast or streaming media industry
Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or a related field
Strong knowledge of encoding formats (MPEG-2, H.264, HEVC, AV1), multiplexing (SPTS, MPTS), and transport protocols (UDP, RTP, IGMP, RTMP)
Hands-on experience with satellite delivery components: modulators, uplink/downlink systems, IRDs (e.g., Synamedia D9800, Sencore Impulse 400D), antennas, LNBs, and conditional access systems (PowerVu, Verimatrix, BISS-1/E)
Industry certifications in broadcast tech, cloud platforms, or project management (e.g., PMP)
Hands-on experience with Zixi ZenMaster and cloud-based streaming operations
Exceptional communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders with a client-focused attitude
Ability to stay current with evolving broadcast and streaming technology trends
Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects
Familiarity with budgeting and cost management for technology initiatives
Motivated, goal oriented, persistent and a skilled negotiator
Ability to negotiate and liaise with customers
Proficiency in MS Office applications
