Responsibilities
Design, develop, and implement a comprehensive, multi-year category management strategy for concrete and aggregates
Collaborate with IT, Finance, and Operations teams to integrate new category management requirements into existing ERP and procurement systems
Conduct in-depth market analysis to build a robust category strategy
Serve as the primary thought leader for the concrete and aggregate categories, engaging with internal stakeholders to understand business needs and build buy-in for the new strategy
Develop and present a detailed blueprint for the long-term organizational structure, including roles, responsibilities, and staffing models required to sustain the category management function post-contract
Lead pilot sourcing events and negotiations to validate the new category strategy and processes
Qualification
Required
A minimum of 10+ years of experience in strategic sourcing, category management, or procurement, with a significant portion of that experience focused on direct materials in an industrial or manufacturing environment
Demonstrated experience in standing up new procurement functions or leading significant process transformation initiatives
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field
Experience working with cross-functional teams to integrate procurement processes with enterprise systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle)
Preferred
Specific experience with construction materials (concrete, cement, aggregates)
An MBA or relevant professional certification (e.g., CPSM)
