Distribution Center Manager

The Distribution Center Manager is responsible for directing and overseeing all distribution center activities, ensuring operational excellence and providing value-added service to customers.

Responsibilities
Responsible for motivating, providing frequent feedback and developing the distribution center personnel within the branch
Develop, implement, and oversee a "Warehouse Work Team" that fosters teamwork, while finding faster, safer and better ways to provide superior, value-added, "hassle free" service to our customers
Implement and ensure compliance with the operational procedures for all activities relating to warehouse and transportation operations
Ensure the proper receipt of all products, both Azelis-owned and supplier-owned, into the warehouse and prompt entry into our computer
Certify that all distribution center employees are working in the safest manner possible and that all activities are performed in accordance with established DOT, OSHA, and EPA standards
Direct and oversee the overall training program compliance as prescribed by Azelis Human Resources
Ensure proper, safe and damage-free storage and retrieval of product
Coordinate with the Purchasing department stock outages, aged inventory, and any inventory related issues
Coordinate with the Customer Service department to ensure that Customers receive their orders in a timely, complete and accurate manner
Assure safekeeping, maintenance and optimum utilization of the fixed assets located in the branch. Effect necessary repairs to facility and equipment within boundaries described below
Continual focus on making necessary changes or process re-engineering that will have a positive impact on customer satisfaction, reducing rework, or improving profitability
Handle Customer Service / CSR Manager duties as needed
Act as local SHEQ Manager for local facility and employees. Ensure safe and ethical practices are adhered to at all times
Work with Corporate Management on the interviewing, hiring, discipling, and termination of employees
Be willing and able to perform any warehouse functions and duties as needed or assigned by management
Understand and adhere to/follow the department procedures and policies
Adhere to and support the principles of Responsible Distribution™
Assume other activities and responsibilities from time to time as directed
Qualification
Required
2-year college degree in Business or Logistics preferred
5 or more years work experience with job responsibilities similar to or related to the above listed duties and responsibilities
Superior skills in motivating and leading people
Trained and certified in the operation of a forklift
Be physically able to effectively perform extensive, labor-intensive activities on a daily basis to including lifting at least 50 pounds
Be able to effectively work in a team-based environment, where all team members hold themselves mutually accountable
Be able to lead by example as well as exemplify a passion for excellence by promoting teamwork and mutual respect
Able to communicate well, both orally and in writing
Able to maintain confidentiality on sensitive issues
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Internet software; Inventory software; Order processing systems; Project Management software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software
