Responsibilities
Schedules medical appointments through coordination of patients, providers, locations, payers, etc
Receives and initiates calls to and from patients, providers, outside provider offices, while following established scheduling procedures and protocols
Appropriately schedules appointments, tests and/or procedures, leveraging the electronic health record (EHR) scheduling software
Promptly answers incoming calls in a professional manner and scheduling of patient appointments
Obtains patient demographics with accuracy to include but not limited to patient address information, telephone number and insurance information from the patient
Manages electronic requests through drop box and patient portals to schedule appointments
Distributes faxes helps manage needed requests
Qualification
Required
2 years administration or similar experience
Must be HIPAA compliant
Preferred
Previous medical office experience
Knowledge of medical terminology, HIPAA compliance and OSHA rules and regulations
